What would you do if I invited you to dinner and offered you some pig blood soup ? Or a developing chick boiled alive? Well these are what we are going to be looking at today. 5 weird foods you probably haven't heard of.
5. Brain Sandwiches.
Waste is wrong true but some might consider this a little extra. This dish was brought over by German and Holland immigrants who were keen on eliminating any form of waste. This strange sandwich is made from sliced pig or calve brains heavily battered and deep fried.
It is usually served with mustard and pickled onions with most of its flavour coming from the batter as the brains have a mild taste. Well I won't want to say anything negative about this sandwich until I try it, if I ever do.
4. White ant egg soup.
Well we've heard of cockroach farms in China, so how bad could ants be? Except in this case it's formed from a mix of ant eggs and partial embryos from the white ant, plus to enhance the flavour a few baby ants are added (adds sourness).
3. Balut.
How does a boiled developing chicken embryo sound, appetising? I beg to differ as well as sounding wrong and harsh it doesn't really look appealing. However it is a common food and is eaten with beer by some individuals.
2. Century Eggs.
I pick up an egg cover it with clay, ash and salt and let it sit for a month after which the yolk turns dark green and stinks of sulphur. Sounds good? One may be inclined to wonder how this dish came into existence.
1. Buffalo Poop Soup.
After hearing about this dish I knew I had to write about it. This dish is apparently made with buffalo poop and some other ingredients.
Well there you have it guys if you know of any other words dish you think we should write about tell us in the comments.
